CenturyLink introduces Managed Hybrid SD-WAN solutions
CenturyLink has announced the availability of CenturyLink Managed Hybrid SD-WAN solutions, a comprehensive set of WAN packages that leverage software-defined wide-area networking technology to integrate and optimize traffic flow across both broadband internet connections and private MPLS networks.
The solutions utilize application-aware routing to automatically identify the best end-to-end path based on application requirements and network latency, with the objective of delivering optimal performance between users and applications, regardless of whether the applications reside on-premises or in the cloud.
“Businesses are looking to evolve their networks to better support their mission-critical business and cloud initiatives,” said Troy Trenchard, vice president, product management at CenturyLink. “Our Managed Hybrid SD-WAN solutions enable businesses to leverage their existing investments in MPLS while adding next-generation network capabilities. By using these new offerings, businesses can deliver high application performance and security across the WAN, especially for cloud-hosted apps.”
The solutions support businesses transformation to next-generation networks by easing the integration, operations and performance management complexities associated with creating hybrid WAN environments.
CenturyLink provides core infrastructure, design and implementation, security, transport and provider management, along with centralized monitoring and management.
The offering includes built-in encryption, segmentation and security policy control through a central portal that secures traffic at all locations, including branches. Additional managed security services, including security log monitoring, incident management and response services, can also be integrated.
The packages provide a solid opportunity to help customers effectively and efficiently migrate to next-generation network technologies.
Webroot Launches Worldwide Certification Program for Endpoint Protection
Webroot, a Colorado-based security vendor, has launched a new certification program that covers key feature differentiators, deployment best practices, cybersecurity management, and basic troubleshooting techniques for SecureAnywhere Business Endpoint Protection.
Targeting MSPs, VARs, and similar partners, the program provides two free, self-paced certification tracks; one for sales people and one for technicians. The sales track provides an overview of key product features and differentiators. The technical track provides best practices for deployment and support.
Partners also gain access to additional tools and resources, such as the Webroot IP test tool, which is designed to help reduce troubleshooting time.
“With a significant shortage of security expertise in the marketplace, Webroot is committed to providing our partners with the knowledge and tools they need to implement the security solutions today’s IT environment demands,” said Charles Tomeo, Webroot’s vice president of worldwide business sales. “Partners will find they can become more self-sufficient with this certification, which will translate into better results and an increased bottom line.”
When at least one employee attains a sales certification and one attains a technical certification, partners can badge themselves as a Webroot Certified Partner.
Additional training and enablement can often go a long way towards solidifying channel relationships and promoting business development, especially when partners also receive a designation that validates their expertise.
Xerox Establishes Special Program for Partners Specializing in Managed Print
Xerox has introduced a managed print services (MPS) accreditation program recognizing a select group of channel partners that demonstrate MPS expertise and revenue growth. Participants receive custom training, exclusive access to sales and assessment tools, pricing considerations and marketing support.
“The success of our partners is critical to our success, so we’re investing millions of dollars in training, marketing support, services infrastructure, and new tools and solutions that help our channel partners address the underpenetrated SMB market,” said Jim Joyce, vice president, MPS, U.S. Channels Unit, Xerox. “MPS is their answer for recurring revenue. It gives them higher margins, more touch points within a client’s business and helps turn traditional printers into smart, connected workplace assistants.”
The Xerox MPS Accreditation Program structure includes a variety of levels reflecting partner performance and commitment.
The program demonstrates Xerox’s efforts to help channel partners forge new and accelerated revenue streams – in this case, the lucrative opportunity to deliver MPS solutions to small- and medium-sized businesses.
