IDC: Steady Growth for IT and Business Servicesn
Worldwide IT and business services revenues are expected to grow by 5.6% in 2022, according to the International Data Corporation (IDC) Worldwide Semiannual Services Tracker.
The 2022 market growth represents an increase of 160 basis points from IDC’s October 2021 forecast, reflecting robust 2021 bookings and pipelines by several large services providers, an improved economic outlook (compared to the previous forecast cycle), and inflationary impact on the services market. The positive trend is expected to be slightly offset by the negative impact of the Ukraine/Russia conflict.
IDC believes that the market will continue to expand throughout the next few years at a rate of 4-5%, representing an overall increase of 40 to 80 basis points each year, pushing the market’s long-term growth rate to 4.6%, up slightly from the previous forecast of 4.3%.
The Americas services market is forecast to grow by 5.3% in 2022, up 150 basis points from the October 2021 forecast. This is attributed to a faster economic rebound and the impact of inflation. IDC believes that the trend will continue in the short-term: 2022 and 2023 growth rates were adjusted up by 150 and 100 basis points, or around 4% year-over-year growth for the next five years.
Mid- to long-term growth prospects for Canada and Latin America improved marginally. Both regions will continue to see recovery well into 2022 and 2023. Latin America’s near-term growth outlook is further lifted by the commodity price rally since March.
The outlook for the U.S. market has also been also adjusted up by 160 and 80 basis points for 2022 and 2023, respectively. The adjustments were made across all markets. The improved economic outlook and vendors’ strong bookings and pipelines in the world’s largest services market partially drove this upward change, while the rest can be attributed to our inflation impact assumptions, especially in project-oriented markets. The long-term U.S. growth prospect remains largely unchanged.

TD Synnex Launches New Managed Virtual Desktop Solution
TD Synnex has announced a new managed virtual desktop offering for businesses looking to offer remote desktop capabilities. The solution deploys an Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environment hosted in Microsoft Azure that allows users to access their desktops and applications from anywhere, on any kind of device.
“Many organizations don’t have the time or resources to commit to building or deploying full-scale IT infrastructure for new or remote employees, and a virtual desktop solution can help to deliver the flexibility, scalability and cost efficiency businesses need,” said Peter Zonneveld, vice president of Global Solutions Aggregation at TD Synnex. “The addition of new managed features to Azure’s Virtual Desktop reduces set-up time and allows for easy-to-use services that help customers access their work applications and infrastructure from anywhere in the world.”
The new offering has two options for deployment:
A standalone feature which provides a quick deployment for partners that already offer managed services and need a quick AVD environment setup. Partners are expected to easily customize the size and scope of the desired AVD environment and deploy this offering in less than 30 minutes.
The other option is a managed feature which provides the quick AVD environment setup listed above plus 24×7 support and management provided via email, phone and chat; performance monitoring and backup; and white-labeled service options including implementation, onboarding, resource monitoring, remediation and patch management services.
“TD Synnex recognizes delivering secure cloud-based virtual desktop solutions is essential to ensuring customer productivity while mitigating risks. By adding a services component to these solutions, we are helping partners go to market more effectively, faster, and even more profitably,” said Stephen Ennis, vice president of Services and Advanced Solutions for Europe. “The Azure Virtual Desktop Click-to-Run™ offering provides a fully managed solution which teams can quickly set up and scale to virtualized infrastructures, while providing a new revenue stream and portfolio enhancer.”

Granite Launches New VAR Partnership Program
Granite Telecommunications, a $1.7 billion provider of communications services to multilocation businesses and government agencies, has launched a new channel program designed to help VARs enter into partnerships with the company.
“Granite started by aggregating POTS services coast to coast for some of the largest companies in country,” said Brad Dupee, Director of National Channel Sales and Development at Granite. “Now, we’re extending that value proposition to VARs, so they can leverage our expertise and scale to win more and earn more by targeting larger accounts.”
The new program is focused initially on serving hardware and software resellers working with Cradlepoint, Fortinet and Juniper Networks – leading technology vendors with which Granite is a top provider partner.
The program is intended to help VARs by removing obstacles to sales and adding recurring revenue streams for advanced services, such as secure SD-WAN, wireless WAN and AI-driven cybersecurity. Specifically, the VAR continues to sell hardware and software licenses and can add Granite services involving Multicarrier Wireless Connectivity, Cross-carrier Pooled Data, Network Readiness, Project Management, Managed Services, and Endpoint Installation.
