Avnet Introduces Industry Analytics Initiative for IBM Business Partners
Avnet is working to expand the capabilities of its allied IBM partners to provide industry-specific data analytics for targeted verticals throughout North America. The initiative focuses on training, pipeline development support, industry education, and pre- and post-sales services across high-growth industries, such as finance, insurance and retail. The intent is to create an ecosystem of highly skilled partners, who will work collaboratively with the IBM sales teams in a variety of engagements.
Each solution includes pre-built predictive analytic modeling patterns and interfaces for focused industry use cases.
“Traditionally, business partners have needed to make substantial investments annually to secure their first industry analytics wins with no guarantees of long-term success,” said Colin Blair, vice president of data analytics and IOT solutions, Avnet Technology Solutions, Americas. “Avnet is helping to reduce the risks and costs associated with creating a data analytics practice. We are giving IBM business partners access to the resources and connections they need to help identify and close industry analytics sales quickly.”

As specialization continues to grow momentum in the development of successful business models, programs such as this one can help partners reduce investments in the cultivation of necessary skill sets, as well as experiment with other specialization areas that might otherwise be out of reach due to costs and other requirements.
