IDC Adds AI-based Tech Decision Platform
IDC Research has rolled out “IDC Quanta for Tech Leaders,” a new AI-powered technology intelligence platform designed to deliver fact-based, outcome-driven answers to the questions most commonly posed by technology leaders.
Built specifically for CIOs, Heads of AI, CTOs, CISOs, and enterprise decision-makers, the platform is designed to provide decision-grade answers sourced and cited from thousands of technology leader research documents, 15B+ proprietary data points tracked annually, vendor selection capabilities, and price benchmarks.
IDC research shows that 67% of enterprise AI agent budgets were overspent by more than 10% in the last 12 months, and 57% of CIOs don’t have a consistent, enterprise-wide vendor benchmark, leaving the majority exposed to unvalidated tech bets and compressed negotiation timelines.
“As AI transforms every corner of the enterprise, moving fast without validated proof creates an unacceptable level of risk,” said Lorenzo Larini, Chief Executive Officer of IDC. “IDC Quanta for Tech Leaders puts actionable intelligence directly in the hands of technology leaders who in the past struggled with access that slowed down decision-making.”
Sitting between the AI tools leaders already use—like email, Claude, and their enterprise AI tools—the platform helps leaders to align technology roadmaps, vendor evaluations, and architecture decisions with independently verified market intelligence; select the right technology at the best price; and build a more effective case for IT expenditures.
The offering is available in seven packages at different price points and capabilities. One package provides full access to IDC’s research and data. Another adds entry-level deal reviews, analyst inquiries, and price benchmarking. A third is built for vendor selection and deal pricing reviews, including direct interactions with domain, specialized tech vendor, and market experts. Premium packages add seats, additional analyst access, and tech leader event passes.
IDC Quanta for Tech Leaders is also now available on AWS Marketplace.

The platform enables partners and tech leaders to simplify and accelerate the procurement process, and apply existing AWS budget commitments (cloud credits) toward IDC spend.
StorMagic and Mako Networks Partner to Strengthen Edge Infrastructure for Distributed Enterprises
StorMagic, a UK-based virtualization company, and Mako Networks, a provider of secure, cloud-managed networking solutions for distributed enterprises, have announced a partnership to help organizations build more resilient and manageable IT environments across remote and distributed locations.
The partnership combines StorMagic SvHCI, a purpose-built hyperconverged infrastructure platform that provides highly available compute, storage and virtualization at the edge, with Mako Networks’ secure SD-WAN and cloud-managed networking platform, which provides PCI-certified centralized network management, secure connectivity and failover capabilities.
By combining StorMagic’s edge infrastructure platform with Mako’s cloud-managed networking services, organizations can deploy and manage critical technologies through a more integrated and resilient architecture designed for multi-site operations such as convenience stores, fuel retailers, quick-service restaurants and other distributed businesses.
“Distributed organizations need more than reliable servers or network connectivity alone,” said Susan Odle, CEO of StorMagic. “Our work with Mako Networks brings together two complementary layers of the edge environment, helping customers combine uptime with secure connectivity in a way that can be managed efficiently at scale.”

The combined value proposition is expected to reduce deployment complexity, improve operational resilience, and standardize how critical IT services are delivered across multiple sites without requiring local IT staff.
CompTIA: Employer Demand for Tech Talent Reaches 3-year High
Employer demand for technology talent strengthened in September, increasing across a broad range of occupations, industries and skill areas, according to analysis of Bureau of Labor Statistics data by CompTIA, a suburban Chicago-based industry association.
Employers posted 272,040 new openings for IT occupations in September. Active job postings climbed to 625,633, the highest total in more than three years. Compared with September 2025, new IT job postings increased 16% and active postings rose 22.4%, reflecting sustained employer demand for workers with IT skills.
“Even in an environment where employers remain generally cautious about hiring, there is still strong demand for the core IT skills that can help companies build digital discipline and advance AI adoption,” said Seth Robinson, vice president, research, CompTIA.
Sixteen of the 20 industries tracked by CompTIA recorded month-over-month increases in tech job postings.
While demand for tech talent increased across the broader economy, employment in the technology sector declined by an estimated 10,350 positions in September. Tech occupation employment across all industries fell by roughly 6,000 positions. Unemployment for tech workers edged up to 3.3%, below the national rate of 4.2%. Over seven million individuals are employed in tech occupations.
Software developers and engineers remained the most sought-after technology professionals in September, with employers posting 47,598 new openings, up 8.3% from August. Systems engineers ranked second, followed by tech support specialists, data analysts and DevOps engineers. Overall, 23 of the 30 highest-volume technology occupations recorded month-over-month gains in job postings.
Active job postings requiring AI-related skills totaled 349,821, an increase of 32,327 postings from August. Since May 2024, active postings requiring AI-related skills have increased by approximately 282%. At the same time, employer demand for dedicated AI and machine learning occupations continues to grow. Active postings within CompTIA’s AI/ML job titles group reached 13,636 in September, nearly triple the level recorded in May 2024.
